About
I build the interface and care about what sits behind it.
I finished a BS in Computer Science at San Francisco State in 2025 and I'm now in the MS Software Engineering program at San Jose State, graduating in May 2028. On team projects I usually take the frontend, from wireframes in Figma through to the deployed React app.
Security is the other half of my work. I study it through coursework, certifications and hands-on labs, and I'm looking for roles where software engineering and cybersecurity overlap.
- Frontend
- React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Vite, Figma, user testing
- Backend and data
- Java, Python, Spring Boot, Javalin, Django REST, NestJS, JUnit, Mockito, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Tableau
- Security
- Zeek, Suricata, pcap analysis, IOC extraction, PKI, IDS/IPS, VPNs
- Infrastructure
- Google Cloud, Docker, Linux, VMware

Let's talk about roles.
I'm open to software engineering and security engineering roles. Reach me through any of these.
EventHub
A full-stack event management platform, deployed on Google Cloud. I was frontend lead on a four-person team.
- Role
- Frontend lead
- Context
- MS SWE, Team Alpha
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- Generated SVG banners give every event its own artwork without uploads.
- Command palette and onboarding tour make the app quick to learn and quick to move around.
- Saved events, calendar export and a payment modal cover the attendee side.
- Password reset by email through Resend, plus admin roles and a report-event flow.
- Figma prototype with 30 frames and over 250 wired interactions, built before the code.
BiteWise
A meal-prep planning app with recipe search, personalized plans and a live calorie tracker.
- Role
- Frontend developer
- Context
- SFSU CSC 648, team of five
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- All frontend work was mine, from wireframes to the deployed React app.
- Recipe and nutrition data come from recipe APIs and the Open Food Facts API.
- Three rounds of user testing shaped three Figma prototype versions.
- Results: a 40% faster task flow and a 30% improvement in usability scores.
C2 Traffic Analyzer
A Python pipeline that reads network logs and captures to find malware command-and-control traffic, then writes an HTML report.
- Context
- SJSU CMPE 209
- Inputs
- Zeek, Suricata, pcap
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- Beaconing detection looks for regular call-backs in flow data.
- DNS entropy scoring flags names that look generated by a domain generation algorithm.
- IOC extraction collects the IPs and domains an analyst would block.
- Finding: on one sample the C2 channel was a single long TCP session. A Suricata alert caught it where beaconing analysis did not.
BART Ridership Recovery
A group data visualization project on how Bay Area station traffic moved from before COVID, through the pandemic, and into recovery.
- Context
- COOP Careers fellowship, team of six
- Data
- BART daily station exits, data.sf.gov
- Dashboard
- Tableau Public ↗
- Scope: October only, 2019 to 2024, so each year compares like with like.
- Five stations: Embarcadero, Powell Street, Downtown Berkeley, Lake Merritt and 19th Street Oakland.
- Stakeholder: BART. The charts are built in Tableau for a deck and a written report.
RecipeHub
A full-stack web app for managing recipes and ingredients in the browser, with separate permissions for regular users and admins.
- Context
- Revature Pre-Employment Program
- Stack
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java REST API
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- Recipes: signed-in users can view, search, add, update and delete recipes.
- Admin role: admins also view, add and delete ingredients, and the interface checks the role before showing those controls.
- Authentication: login and logout with session handling, and password confirmation at registration.
- Frontend and API: the browser app talks to the Java backend over REST, with CORS support configured.
Social Media Blog API
A backend-only API for a social media app, written in Java with Javalin and JDBC.
- Context
- Revature Pre-Employment Program
- Stack
- REST backend with SQL through JDBC
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- Accounts: user registration and login.
- Messages: create, update and delete messages.
- Feeds: endpoints return every message on the site, or only the messages from one user.
Spring Social Media Blog API
The same social media backend rebuilt on the Spring Framework, replacing hand-written JDBC and routing with Spring Boot, Spring Web and Spring Data.
- Context
- Revature Pre-Employment Program
- Stack
- REST backend with Spring Data JPA
- Code
- GitHub ↗
- Same features: registration, login, and creating, updating and deleting messages, plus listing all messages or one user's messages.
- Spring Web handles the endpoints and Spring Data handles persistence.
- Comparison: building both versions showed what the framework takes over compared with Javalin and raw JDBC.
